Man Utd transfer news LIVE: De Jong deal completed, Ronaldo U-turn, and Martinez price disclosed
The way many would have liked for Manchester United’s transfer season to begin hasn’t quite materialized.
Erik ten Hag hasn’t been able to add many of his main targets, and just Tyrell Malacia has arrived at Old Trafford so far. Two of the club’s most important figures have travelled to Barcelona in an effort to finalize a deal, and Frenkie De Jong seems to be the player he wants the most.
Though Cristiano Ronaldo was not included, United’s current team has gone to Asia for their preseason vacation. Because he recently announced a desire to leave the team, the player’s future is still up in the air.
discussions with Kalajdzic
In the midst of ongoing uncertainty around Cristiano Ronaldo’s future, Manchester United has had preliminary negotiations with Stuttgart striker Sasa Kalajdzic.
Erik ten Hag is hoping to add a striker to the team to help with their final third efforts. Last term, they placed a lot of reliance on Ronaldo, and this term, they must distribute the weight more evenly.
reported by Sky Germany Kalajdzic, 25, has been named as a target by United.
On Ronaldo’s potential, Ten Hag
New United manager’s words: “Just for this season, we are planning with Ronaldo. Working with him will be enjoyable for me.”
When asked whether Ronaldo wants to go, he added: “He hasn’t told me anything, though. I’ve read, but as I’ve said, Cristiano is not for sale; he is part of our ambitions, and we want to succeed together.”
The club recently said they would consider offers for the player, but this is not the case now.
Arrangement for De Jong
According to sources in Spain, a deal to sign Frenkie De Jong has been reached with Barcelona.
Erik ten Hag’s ability to persuade the player to transfer to Old Trafford is now the only thing standing in the way.
Given De Jong’s lack of interest in switching, that hurdle may be difficult.
